Annabel Gironne

As a graduate of the University of Ottawa in Health Sciences with a specialization in Speech Therapy, Annabel is very familiar with the reality of the school environment, where she practiced early in her career. With an open mind to new challenges, Annabel jumped to the private sector to be more accessible to her clients and develop precious relationships with parents and partners involved in the care of her clients.

Annabel co-founded, in 2018, the Cabinet d’orthophonie l’Envol with her colleague Sandrine Umunoza. Together, they have developed outstanding speech therapy services not only in the Outaouais region, but also in the North Shore region in collaboration with Indigenous communities.

Annabel also continues to build her experience by working in early childhood centres which enhances her expertise working with preschool and primary school clientele. She currently works with people with speech and language disabilities, including written modality (reading and writing) and offers them a quality service adapted to their needs. Annabel regularly trains on various themes such as verbal dyspraxia, lexical access, learning disabilities, etc.

Furthermore, Annabel offers training to professionals, practitioners, and parents across Quebec. She has had the privilege of working in the field of speech therapy in two different roles: clinician and clinical supervisor; roles that to her have been very enriching and integral to her career.

Annabel is well known for her adaptability and creativity. She will put you at ease and fully participate in the development of your child. Every day, the happiness she feels working with children and teenagers is validation that this field is well suited for her. As a mother of twins, she recognizes that parents may have concerns about their child’s development. So, she will listen, support, and advise you.
