Alexandra Lauzon

With a degree in Classical Singing from the Université de Montréal, Alexandra decided to combine her interests in voice, communication and self-help by completing her Master’s degree in Speech Therapy at McGill University.

She began her career as a Speech Therapist in the Cree communities of James Bay, where she helped develop speech therapy services and worked with various clientele.

Alexandra is developing a real passion for working with Indigenous communities where she takes a holistic approach to cultural integrity. With the empowerment of local stakeholders at the heart of her vision, she establishes solid partnerships in health centres, daycares, and schools where she provides services, support, and training.

Driven by a desire to pass on her knowledge and experience to her colleagues and future speech therapists, Alexandra supervises numerous interns and offers lectures at McGill University on the practice of speech therapy within Indigenous settings.

At the Cabinet d’orthophonie l’Envol, Alexandra found a team that shares her values and vision. She mainly offers services to students and teachers in the Innu communities of the North Shore.
