Nastassia has a Bachelor’s degree with Honours majoring in Psychology and a minor in Social Work. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Education as well as additional qualifications in Specialized Education from the University of Ottawa.
Nastassia has had the opportunity to teach in various environments in Ottawa and Gatineau within the private sector and the Catholic school board in regular and specialized classes. As an Specialized Private Teacher, Nastassia has expertise in learning disabilities, attention disorders and the rehabilitation of students living with those challenges.
After several years in Canada, she returned to get involved in Haitian education where she founded La Ressource, which is an education center that offers its services to various people: students, parents, teachers, and educational organizations in Haiti. After seven years, La Ressource is a well-known reference in Haitian education.
Nastassia continues to raise awareness amongst the Haitian population on the importance of differentiated education and to defend the right of students who learn alternatively. She believes strongly in fairness and the importance that every child has the right to a quality education, regardless of their challenges.
Currently Nastassia is located in North Carolina in the United States where she works virtually for the Cabinet d’orthophonie l’Envol as Clinical Director and Specialized Private Teacher. These services give students who need specialized teaching/tutoring services all the strategies they need to overcome their challenges. Nastassia is ready to offer full support to parents to help them better understand what their child is facing and guide them to make the best decision for the well-being of their child.
Nastassia is married and has two children. Not only that, she is involved in the Board of Directors of an organization that works in the social development of orphans in Haiti (IGOTNEXT). While at the University of Ottawa, Nastassia also co-founded the first predominantly black sorority, Sigma Beta Phi, of which she was also president in 2008. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and acting.
